Banking on imprisonment 

of the indigenous.

Oblivious 

to their own ambivalence. 

Betraying constituents,

withholding assistance

from families in critical conditions.

Denying innocent immigrants from admittance.

Spewing insolence 

under the guise of backhanded compliments.

Incompetence 

has plagued educational establishments. 

Established men

ballooned with false confidence

led by diluted consciousness.

Broken promises 

of financial deliverance.

Evangelical Christians 

preaching the antithesis 

of the holy protagonist.

How immaculate 

is their conception 

to praise a narcissist of a president?

Treacherous directions

we're heading in

when the oppression 

of confederates

are the newfound American obsession 

instead of the collusion of democratic elections 

& the death of adolescents 

choking on antidepressants 

just to feel present.

 

Unpleasant

is this message

of self-reflection

 

but transcendence 

calls for confessions

of our deathly transgressions.
