It's been quite a journey these past few weeks for Sierra and I. We made our big move from Toledo, OH all the way to Riverside, CA. It was one of the most nerve wracking yet peaceful moments in my life. The months leading up to our move was somewhat stressful but God was definitely working and made it happen! Hindsight is usually filled with negativity and regret but this time it's a testament to God's control. He placed the right people in our lives at the right time to make our move possible; He provided us with the means to make our move affordable and He protected us all through the terrain that threatened our safety. There were definitely times where I feared that we had made the wrong decision to move but time after time, it seemed that God was reassuring us that He wanted us to move forward. He allowed Sierra and I to spend some much needed intimate time together and gave us time to create some soul space for ourselves. Our experience was a humbling, empowering and rejuvenating one!

It has been some time since I personally spent time with God but I was reminded that His presence is within us and all around us whether you know it or not. The earth worshiped loudly with all of its diverse majesty from the plains to the steep, tall, and ferocious mountains. Instead of stopping at every spot of beauty to capture a photograph, I believed it was more important to just soak it all in. The beauty and splendor is to vast to even attempt to capture it. It's truly an experience you need to experience yourself through your own eyes. This road trip definitely encouraged me to spend more time outside and to continue taking awesome shots to share!

I originally thought that my favorite part of the trip would be to traverse the mountains but something about the vast desert in Colorado entering into Arizona called out to my soul. I felt this sense of belonging knowing that my ancestors once roamed freely and explored these areas long before many others. The emptiness of the land was peaceful yet terrifying all at once. It was somewhat dreadful once the night sky arrived but it was also serene. On the following day, we arrived at the Grand Canyon and there is something incredible about looking into the depths of the earth rather than looking above; maybe it's the unknown of our own home that intrigues me or maybe it's my desire to explore our planet rather than leaving it. It felt like I was on top of the world but at the same time it felt like I was at the bottom. It was ultimately a humbling experience. A reminder that no matter what we do in our lifetime, we are insignificant yet loved and accepted by the universe.

Anyways, here is an image to kind of give you scale of size and depth of the canyons. If you look closely on the ledge, there are two onlookers taking in the scenery. This is just a fraction of a fraction of the Grand Canyons size. Stay tuned for more pics! Also, I am planning to write a guide to help others who plan on relocating in the future, to avoid the mistakes we made and enjoy the process so stay connected!
