What do you live for?

Hey!

Before I jump into the topic of this post, I just wanted to extend my deepest thanks to all of my supporters! I greatly appreciate your continuous support throughout my journey thus far as an artist. I hope you all continue to ride along with me as I progress. My hope is that my visuals and my literature will help us to get to know each other on a more personal level and spark up some form of fellowship! With all that being said, let's jump into the first blog post!

I would like to start by asking you all a question...when was the last time you took the time to think about your purpose here on Earth? Of course, you did not choose to exist but you do exist, so what is it that you want your existence to do? Do you desire to impact the world or be impacted by the world?

I ask these questions because I deeply believe we all have a special calling and purpose that we are to fulfill. Some of us respond to our calling sooner than others and unfortunately, some of us never pick up. Don’t let that discourage you because the beauty of life is that we are blessed with a lifetime to figure it out!

Don’t get me wrong, the search can and will be extremely difficult and at times depressing especially in a society where your value is defined by the job you clock in for 40+ hours a week. Think about it; 9 times out 10 when you meet someone, one of the first questions you are asked is, “What do you do for a living?”. Depending on your answer, you can sense the person's perception of you either through facial expressions or through their tone, completely change. Your value as a person either rises or diminishes, it shouldn’t be that way but the way the world is setup, it is that way. We may not be able to change how the world perceives us but we can change how we perceive ourselves within the world. It’s easier said than done of course.

I challenge you all to not be defined or limited by “what you do for a living” but to shape yourselves by “what you live for”. You may not have an answer right away but at least you can begin the process of freeing yourself and begin moving in the right direction. As Joel Osteen said, "Every setback is a setup for a comeback!" So don't miss that call and PICK UP!

...a victim of slander, for some may call it a weed but it pushes on undaunted to conquer the world... -unknown
